NEWS FROM YOUR CHAMBER

Settling in…… Pam Staneski, Executive Director

While I am still pondering office artwork and the seemingly never-ending organization that accompanies a new challenge, my first month as the Executive Director has been most enjoyable. It has been exciting to have business people and community members “pop in” to just say “hi”, to listen to the many success stories that make our organization one to be proud of, and to hear new ideas from members that can only make us stronger. I hope the drop-ins continue because we are never too busy to hear from you.

This year is shaping up to be a year of changes at the Chamber as Michael Grande of TBNG became the new Chairman of the Board of Directors in January, with some new faces joining him on the Board.  We are excited to work with him and the members of the BOD to continue to build upon what is a constant—a strong community involved in connecting people with our local businesses.

Speaking of connecting, Nell Moll is our “connector”.  She has put over twenty years of her heart and soul into the Chamber.  I marvel at her official title—Director of Membership, Opportunity, and Enthusiasm!  Anyone who knows her will agree that she is not short on enthusiasm, and even manages to muster it up when I play country music in the office.

Our Executive Assistant, Connie Smith, just happens to love country music (insert picture of me smiling) and allows me to play it loud enough to hear but not impede our work.  Yes, I said allow. Connie is our glue.  In this short month, she has kept me on schedule (oh so many meetings—insert smile again) and has been very patient with my constant “Connie, do you know…” inquiries.  She is the first contact when visitors walk through our door and makes all feel welcome, including me.

Our work is supplemented on occasion by Joseph Weathered. You might see him at a Business After Hours taking pics and video, or in the office working on the newsletter, and he will be working to help the annual BIC golf tournament be as successful this year as last.

Lastly, we are your team. We value your membership and work on your behalf. We thank you for the opportunity to be enthusiastic about serving our membership and our community.
